Title: Transition (design work)

Location: Swavesey Village College, Cambridgeshire, UK

Description: Seating, sculpture and shelter commissioned for the playground and social spaces Swavesey Village College, unifying the new pedestrian environment. Overall the scheme aims to celebrate the growth of the school and the students within it yet also address their practical needs. Linking in with ideas of continuity and change,seeds roots, beginnings, the design, grows from circular disks in the floorscape to form a series of structures. As they mature they will weather and change.

Project Background: Commissioned as a focal point for the 40th birthday celebrations and end of the building phase 1, the site specific work has been developed alongside a workshop programme with year 11 students. The project heavily involved the PTA and volunteer help in its creation.
