A temporary installation and community development programme to celebrate the prestigious tradition of garment manufacture in this agricultural Fenland village. Sowing : Sewing
The aim of the project was to celebrate and engender local pride with a temporary installation, whilst also encourage the skills normally associated with work through a programme of creative workshops. Relationships were formed throughout the village to support the project, including the business community.
The result a temporary street installation - '100 Shirts'; an archive document with layers of documentary images; plus further proposed concepts including - 'Knitted Furrows'. This was all accompanied by an exhibition showcasing the creative process and community involvement .
