Following successful approval of the Public Art Delivery Plan by the local authority, the main element, a commission for sculptural seating is now under way.
The commission celebrates the histrical context of this canalside location examining the shift from heavy industrial uses to modern, light, leisure uses. The delivery plan scopes the commissioning of sculptural seating for the new development, and allows other opportunities for artist interventions and trails in the future.
Working with students from The National Furniture School at Bucks New University at High wycombe to deliver the work, student Kathryn Sumroy has been chosen from the group to develop her concept proposals into detailed design for commission by Taylor Wimpey, The Timber stack, and associated programme of local enagement will be progressed during 2013.
