Following successful approval of my Public Art Delivery Plan by the local authority, the main element, a commission for sculptural seating was awarded to National Furniture school student Katherine Sumroy following a student competition I devised.

The commission celebrates the histrical context of this canalside location examining the shift from heavy industrial uses to modern, light, leisure uses.  The delivery plan scopes the commissioning of sculptural seating for the new development, and allows other opportunities for artist interventions and trails in the future.

Working with staff from The National Furniture School at Bucks New University at High wycombe to deliver the work, student Kathryn Sumroy was chosen to develop her concept proposals into detailed design for commission by Taylor Wimpey,  Katherine then worked with me and the development and commissioning team to create a community trail and celebration event to launch the project and help breath life back into the canal side development.
